Despite declining the chance to make a bid this summer, Liverpool could reignite their interest in Sporting CP centre-back Goncalo Inacio next year.Emmanuel Petit believes Nico Williams would be 'a good fit' for Arsenal amid reported transfer interest from the Gunners and Chelsea.
Recent reports have claimed that both London clubs have sent scouts to watch Williams on numerous occasions. His previous release clause was €50million (£42m), but the Spaniard's new clause has not been communicated by Athletic Bilbao.
The winger has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions for Bilbao this season, with his performances in 2023/24 playing a key role in their push for a place in next season's Champions League. The La Liga club are currently fifth in the table, which could secure a place in Europe's elite competition depending on the performances of Spanish clubs in Europe.
And ex-Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Petit has backed Bilbao's 21-year-old forward to be a success at the Emirates Stadium if he joins Mikel Arteta's team. He believes the Spain international's skills are 'devastating'.
"He can play on the right or left and every time I watch Athletic, they always give him the ball because he’s so good at facing two defenders.
"He’d be a very good addition to any team as his skills are devastating. I love players who are always provoking defenders".
